How Did You Get Those Fleas?

The Other Side of the Tracks: A Socially Speaking commentary

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said a thousand times: whites don’t want you on their playground!  Why don’t you get it?  All of those blacks who deem themselves elite and far above “those people” are awakened time and time again by the realities of a racist and separatist America.  As I reach middle age, my past witness of repeated double-standard policy by the white American corporate institutions, make it clear that one is living in deception if he/she believes that this country functions according to the Constitution.

NPR terminated its contract with Juan Williams, who worked with them as a senior political analyst, after Williams appeared on Bill O’Reilly and spoke of a “Muslim dilemma.  I’ve said for at least the past five years, that Williams has been among the fringe of illuminated blacks who work against his own interests.  That he actually thinks he’s one of “them”—i.e., white people.  He’s not—and they won’t ever allow him to be.

He speaks the language that makes whites the most comfortable, yet that language is deceptive and of course, offensive to the struggle of blacks and minorities in this country.  That’s the reason Fox News hired him on—the “Token Negro.”  The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”

Mr. Williams said he agreed with Mr. O’Reilly.

He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”  In his zest to be “accepted”, he used the language of O’Rielly, Limbaugh, Laura Schlesinger, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Tea Partiers, Southern Conservatives and unfortunately, got his knocked off.  Yes, it was knocked off for the right reason, but he was treated diametrically oppositional to them…’cause he ain’t them!  The double-standard policy in effect.

And so what he wrote books about the civil rights movement; people have written books about slavery, but ain’t none of them been slave masters!  Writing books about being a racial bigot doesn’t absolve you from being a racial bigot.

Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts,” Mr. Williams said.  He never mentions that in today’s reality, only America invades and occupies other countries.  The language of racism is also dictated by what you don’t say.

So, NPR fires Williams…a taxpayer-funded organization fired someone over their free speech? Are we surprised?  Surely not.  NPR has descended into the “corporate whore” abyss.  Now they accept underwriting by defense contractors and large for-profit corporations that easily compromise what they report in their broadcasts.  I can no longer trust NPR.  They’ve went the way of Citizens United.

NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

As for Williams, his theatrics this week have been sorry and shameful.  His claims of being hurt is what conservatives do.  They have to portray heart—though they never had one.  Heart is not a conservative characteristic.

Williams, moonlighting for Fox only corrupted any true progressivism that he exhibited.  The fact is, when the slave master lets a field Negro in the house, the field negro tends to forget from whence he came.  Juan Williams may have been employed by NPR, but he was a-whoring with Fox.  You can’t help but take on the characteristics of the ones who smile in your face; when you lie down with dogs, you get fleas!  That’s why Williams spit out fear of Muslims.  Black people don’t fear Muslims…never have.  Funny how that happens…

As for Juan Williams, good riddance!  Justice and equality has no compromise.  There is no fence-riding in true progressivism.  And it’s going to be hard shaking those fleas; you’re now officially infested.
