If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Republicans eat their own. One thing for sure, the conservative right have a high propensity for sticking together…until it’s not convenient; then they’ll throw their kids overboard!

It’s happened yet again. The sidekicks of House Minority Leader John Boehner are distancing themselves from the Ohio Republican’s recent remarks that he would support President Barack Obama’s proposal to renew the expiring Bush tax cuts only for those making less than $250,000 if it were his only option. Nevermind, that position makes complete sense!

When Race Is A Hardluck Story

Since I cut cable out of my life about eight weeks ago, I’ve noticed a phenomenon that I didn’t notice before and I don’t like. I come across this occurrence whenever I’m browsing channels on network TV, but I first noticed it when I had cable. America, in all it’s diversity, pays attention to it’s minority populations…at least blacks and Latinos. The more TV I watch (maybe five hours per week, including “60 Minutes” and “The Simpsons”), the more I see that blacks and Latinos are featured—as hardluck cases.

Liars Should Not Be the Norm

First of all, when one is caught in a lie, his/her integrity is compromised when the liar gets mad and attacks the person who caught it, and two, when a liar is exposed, they don’t need to mischaracterize it as a “misstatement”; they KNOW the truth, so anything other than that is false; it’s no mistake, it’s intentional. Senate candidate Mark Kirk apologized Thursday for making inaccurate statements about his service in the Navy Reserves, while acknowledging more discrepancies.

We Are Not the Crazy Ones

These people think we’re crazy. We watch them as they climb on the national stage—desiring media attention (because how else can one get elected to public office if the public doesn’t see them?). Then, they complain that “the media” is against them once they express their erroneous policy positions, internal thought processes or out-and-out lies. These people think we’re crazy…
